Sukhbaatar square<\/h2>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

Sukhbaatar square, the main square in the heart of Ulaanbaatar. A large statue of Sukhbaatar, the famous patriot characterizes the square, and it is named after this historic figure. Such important landmarks as the Parliament House, Stock Exchange and Cultural Palace are located surrounding the area.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

NATIONAL HISTORY MUSEUM<\/h2>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t
\n\t\t\t\t\t

The National History Museum boasts its large collection of exhibits showing the history and culture of Mongolia since the period when mankind ever existed in this land up to the present day. Its huge number of interesting exhibits includes utensils and clothes of nomads, furnishing of their unique dwelling, musical instruments and artworks. The Museum displays a number of stuffed animals and birds and samples of various minerals found in Mongolia. Fossilized skeletons and eggs of several different kinds of ancient dinosaurs in the paleonthological section are the main attraction of this museum. <\/p>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Gandan Monastery <\/h2>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t
\n\t\t\t\t\t

Gandan Monastery which is the largest and most significant monastery in Mongolia. Built in mid 19th century, it is the only monastery where Buddhist services continued to function even during the communist past. Temples are flocked by visitors during religious services. The Migjid Janraisag Temple is an important part of Gandan Monastery. The temple houses the majestic new gilded statue of Mighid Janraisag, decorated with jewels. This 26 m high 20 ton statue is a copy of another statue that was destroyed in the 1920\u2019s by communists.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Bogd Khaan Palace Museum<\/h2>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

The Bogd Khaan Palace Museum, built between 1893 and 1903, was the home of Mongolia\u2019s last king Javzandamba VIII. This complex of temples and houses contain a number of Buddhist artworks and the private collection of Javzandamba composed of gifts of rulers and kings from all over the world. <\/p>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

TERELJ NATIONAL PARK<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Terelj National Park is the closest natural beauty sight near Ulaanbaatar situated around 60 kms to the north east of the city. Terelj National Park borders the Khan Hentii Strictly Protected Area, which is one of the most wilderness areas of the country. Terelj is famous for its beautiful natural scenery, interesting rock formations. Visitors can take leisurely strolls on green meadows carpeted with edelweiss and a dazzling variety of other wildflowers; view fascinating rock formations against a backdrop of pine-covered mountains; and wander along the wooded banks of a mountain stream. Riding horses along the valley of Terelj and rafting through the Tuul river from the national park are some of the most exciting adventures near Ulaanbaatar. The Turtle Rock created by nature and the lifestyle of nomads is the key attractions.
